Offering backcountry “adventure dining” in Banff National Park for over 50 years, Banff Trail Riders provides a taste of mountain air and a hearty meal during their Cowboy Cookouts.

Atmosphere

Enjoy a scenic trail ride or covered wagon ride along the the base of Sulphur Mountain and by the Bow River to their cookout location by the Sundance Canyon Trail. At the picnic site is covered seating, a BBQ pit and mountain views all around.

Try your hand at ‘calf’ roping or horseshoes while your meal is cooked to order. After you’ve fuelled up, you’ll mount back up for the ride into to town—horse riders via the Sulphur Mountain Trail with a climb up and around the Windy Knoll, while the wagon returns along the Bow River.

This adventure is perfect for a group of friends or a unique excursion suitable for the entire family.
