Elk & Oarsman

One of Banff’s most popular sports pubs and restaurants, the Elk & Oarsman features house-cut steaks and house-ground burgers from Canadian beef. Their game specialties include elk, of course. The food here is “as homemade as it gets” and the venue was voted among Buzzfeed’s top 12 mountain pubs in Canada.

Timber and river rock décor (and local sports memorabilia) impart a Rocky Mountain feel. The spacious rooftop patio is a great place to meet friends and admire Tunnel, Rundle and Sulphur mountains in summer. In winter, seats by the huge stone fireplace are coveted. Window-side view tables are popular year ‘round.
